In Sri Lanka, Afghanistan will host Pakistan for a series of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) over the course of five days just before the Asia Cup. The first two games will be played on August 22 and 24 in Hambantota, and the third game will be played on August 26 in Colombo.
After the series, both teams will head to Pakistan for the Asia Cup opening match between Pakistan and Nepal on August 30 in Multan."Our previous ODI assignment was a 2-1 series victory in our away tour to Bangladesh, which has boosted the team's morale for the Pakistan series," stated Afghanistan
Cricket Board head Mirwais Ashraf. "We are pleased with our preparations for the Asia Cup as we have recently participated in multiple ODI commitments in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Playing Pakistan in Sri Lanka will also help our squad read the conditions and further prepare for the event."

In Sri Lanka, Pakistan recently finished a two-test series. The Lankan Premier League began on July 30 and runs until August 20. A number of players, including captain Babar Azam, have stayed in Sri Lanka to compete in it.
