The highly anticipated OnePlus Open foldable phone is creating buzz in the tech world, and a recent leak by renowned tipster OnLeaks reveals a major design overhaul for the device. The renders suggest that OnePlus is adopting a design similar to Oppo and Google for its debut foldable smartphone. The OnePlus Open is expected to close like a book with a wider aspect ratio, different from its previous renders and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

The leaked design shows a flat mid-frame with rounded edges, the iconic Alert Slider, and a gigantic circular camera hump at the back, housing a triple camera system with Hasselblad branding. A circular cutout beneath the Hasselblad branding hints at the presence of a TOF or LiDAR sensor. The smartphone will feature a quad-speaker setup, a USB Type-C port, and 5G antenna bands at the bottom edge.

The outer display will accommodate the book-like aspect ratio with rounder corners and narrow bezels, while the inner foldable display will have thin uniform bezels and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Rumored specifications include a 7.8-inch Quad-HD+ AMOLED foldable display, a 6.3-inch AMOLED outer display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The device is likely to have a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging and a versatile camera setup.

The launch date may face a delay due to display supplier changes, but these details are still based on leaks and rumors. Keep an eye out for more updates on the OnePlus Open as information becomes available.
