Commemorative postage stamps and a special coin of Rs 100 were issued to mark 10 years of CPEC on Monday.


Islamabad, July 31, 2023 (PPI-OT): Commemorative postage stamps and a special coin of Rs 100 were issued on the occasion of completion of 10 years of CPEC on Monday. According to details, a special ceremony was held in Islamabad to mark the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Chinese Vice Premier And Special Representative to Chinese President Xi Jinping He Lifeng attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

According to a statement issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister's Office on Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and The Chinese Vice Premier described the role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project in the social, economic and economic development of Pakistan and the development and prosperity of the people of the two countries.


The two leaders emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project has changed Pakistan's economic landscape by removing fundamental bottlenecks in development planning and eliminating power shortages.


Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng expressed satisfaction over the significant achievements of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. The two leaders expressed their strong commitment to further development planning and mutual cooperation based on the achievements of the last decade. The leadership of Pakistan and China also appreciated the efforts of Pakistani and Chinese experts, engineers and workers for playing an outstanding role in the timely completion of all cpec projects in Pakistan.


The Chinese Vice Premier congratulated the Pakistani nation on the completion of 10 years of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Commemorative postage stamps, coins and first day covers were issued to mark the completion of 10 years of CPEC. On the occasion, special performances were organized to highlight the cultural elements of Pakistan and to highlight the brotherly relations between China and Pakistan. Pakistan and China launched the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project after the chinese prime minister's visit to Pakistan in 2013.


Under this project, the two countries have started and completed a number of projects in the last ten years in the fields of energy, communication infrastructure, port and airport development, digital connectivity and other sectors. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project created more than 200,000 jobs in Pakistan, added 8,000 MW of electricity to the national grid, completed the construction of 510 km of highways and 932 km of roads, and laid an 820-km-long optical fibre line.

Under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, cooperation in new areas including rural redevelopment, agricultural development, industrialization, green development and science and technology has been expanded between the two countries. Senior ministers from China and Pakistan, top officials from both countries and corporate executives of leading Chinese companies operating in Pakistan attended the event.
